SnapBite

Privacy Policy

SnapBite is designed around on-device meal journaling. The current app does not require an account or operate a SnapBite backend for your meal records.

Last updated: September 6, 2026

1. What SnapBite stores

Meal records such as capture time, meal type, dining context, optional rating, notes, favorites, and optional place or restaurant information are stored locally by the app.

Derived images such as enhanced photos, thumbnails, and meal stickers are processed and stored on-device. SnapBite does not use a cloud AI API to recognize dishes, ingredients, or calories.

2. Camera and Photos

Camera access is used only when you choose to take a meal photo. Photos access may be used when you choose an existing image or when SnapBite saves a capture to Apple Photos.

Original photos managed by Apple Photos remain subject to your Photos library settings. App-generated derivatives remain in SnapBite's local storage unless you share or export them.

3. Location and place search

Location is optional. If you grant permission or choose place features, SnapBite may use your device location to help suggest or attach a place or restaurant to a meal.

SnapBite does not send your meal location to a SnapBite server. Apple MapKit and related system services may process location or search requests under Apple's own privacy practices.

4. Network, accounts, and AI

The current version requires no SnapBite account, has no SnapBite meal-data backend, and does not use CloudKit automatic sync for meal records.

SnapBite does not send your meal photos to a cloud AI service for food, ingredient, or calorie recognition.

5. Sharing and tracking

SnapBite does not sell your meal data, use it for cross-app advertising, or build advertising profiles from your meals.

When you use the iOS share sheet, the content you choose is passed to the destination app or service you selected, subject to that service's privacy policy.

6. Retention and deletion

Local meal records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Removing the app can remove SnapBite's app-local data. Photos that were saved to Apple Photos follow your Photos library rather than SnapBite's local database.

Because the current version has no SnapBite account backend, there is no remote meal-data account for us to delete on your behalf.

7. Permissions

Camera: capture meal photos. Photos: select existing photos and support photo-library workflows you initiate. Location: optional place and restaurant context.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some features may become unavailable when a related permission is disabled.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as SnapBite evolves. The current version will always be published on this page.
