Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. The current version is local-first and does not require a SnapBite account.

Does SnapBite identify dishes, ingredients, or calories?

No. The current version does not call a cloud AI API for food recognition or nutrition estimation. On-device image processing is used for visual enhancement and meal stickers.

Where are my meal records stored?

Core meal records and app-generated image derivatives are stored locally on your device. Photos saved to Apple Photos are managed by your Photos library.

Will my meals sync to a new iPhone automatically?

Not in the current version. SnapBite does not use CloudKit automatic sync for meal records yet.

Why does SnapBite ask for location?

Only place-related features need it. You can skip location entirely and still keep meal records.

What happens if I delete the app?

App-local meal data can be removed with the app. Photos already saved to Apple Photos remain subject to your Photos library. The current version does not provide a SnapBite cloud backup.

Can I change the time of a meal?

Yes. Meal time can be edited, while future times are prevented so the record stays tied to something that already happened.

How do I report a bug?

Email suimuspace@gmail.com with the steps that trigger the problem. Device model, iOS version, and screenshots of the interface are helpful.
